Autumn / Winter 2009 Interior Trends

This season, interiors are seeing some very distinctive trends. Deep, rich colours are on trend with royal purple, cobalt blue and (if you can imagine the colours of a sari) earthy, intense colours of terracotta, greys and brick red.
Also consider bold, patterned prints - geometrical, paisley, graphical - the bigger and bolder the better! But remember to keep your patterned items to one focal point - one wall, one piece of furniture or a rug to really bring your eye to the piece.
Another important trend this season is exaggerated scale. Pick a huge mirror, over-sized furniture, or an enormous headboard. Bean bags are a great way to create a statement piece as they are big, bold and often can become a central part of a living room.
