Try bean bags for gaming

If you are a gamer, you know will understand the pain an aching back, numb bum or cramp, especially after hours of trying to conquer Call of Duty. Often gamers just perch on the end of their bed, slouch on their couch or even sit on the floor to get closer to the TV.
Gaming chairs were hailed as the next big thing but they are often full of gadgetry and wizardry that make the chair uncomfortable or break really easily. If you are a hardcore gamer then you are more than likely going to have a decent TV and sound system, so the fancy sound and vibrating systems are often rendered useless.
Time and time again, gamers are recommending a bean bag to get closer to the action and remain comfortable for hours on end.
BeanBagBazaar has created a range of designer gaming bean bags to appeal to gamers or anyone with the slightest interest in anything PlayStation, Xbox or Wii. You can finally enjoy gaming without the agony or numb bum!
Mums and dads may also have concerns over their children’s posture while gaming but the new i-eX gaming chair has a special ergonomic design that will encourage young gamers to sit up and provides support for their neck and back while gaming.

73% of UK are regular ‘gamers’
Posted by karen | Filed under Customer Research, Gaming, General News
As published in our previous blog posts, we’ve noted that gaming is becoming socially more acceptable - with family rooms and living rooms actually making space for gaming to take place. This has been confirmed further with a recent survey highlighted by Edge magazine that found 73% of UK citizens regularly play games.
That’s nearly three-quarters of the country taking up a Wii remote or a Xbox controller! Consoles like the PlayStation or the Wii are easily the most popular choice for gamers, however online gaming portals and even the mobile phone also make a popular appearance.
Kids aged 8-12 are most likely to play games regularly while the average teenage boy (aged 13-19) spends 11 hours a week (!) on their console. Up to three-quarters of men aged up to 49 regularly play games, but their regularity tails off once they hit their 50s. Men generally play more than women, however the genders are at their closest during their early adult years between 20-34, with 83% of men and 76% of women regularly playing games.
So if you are stuck for something to buy someone at Christmas you could easily make the assumption that they regularly play some sort of game! A gaming bean bag or even our high-spec i-eX gaming chair would make a great addition to their bedroom or living room. I certainly know what I’m getting my teenage brother this year!

Gaming is more sociable than ever before
Posted by karen | Filed under Gaming, General News
When you think of gaming, you often get a stereotyped image of a darkened boys’ bedroom with 13 year olds playing on their Xbox or PlayStation console. However now with the launch of the Nintendo Wii a couple of years ago, gaming is becoming more socially acceptable than ever before, as noted by gaming site Platform Nation. With the Wii in particular, you can play games alongside your gran or your little sister - both older and younger generations are getting more involved.

Even more recently, there has been a trend towards social networking gaming sites - both enabling gamers to play games as well as sharing cheats, hints, tips and even bragging about their achievements! So now with older and younger generations more likely to be using games and more widespread media socially discussing games, gaming has certainly come a long way from grubby boys in their bedrooms.
This trend has spread into the family arena, with parents not only taking part in gaming but actually providing space and furniture to encourage gaming. The family living room often has a gaming chair or bean bag to play games in, while certainly most playrooms or kids lounge areas will have some kid-friendly furniture like a gaming bean bag! A gaming bean bag adds an element of informality to a living space, and while the great range of colours can even enhance the room theme. Buy your gaming bean bag from BeanBagBazaar and encourage a social gaming space in your living room.

Creating the perfect gaming environment

Creating the Perfect Gaming Environment
When you think of gaming, you might not think of bean bags. Bean bag chairs were once a children’s furniture mainstay. They came in an assortment of bright vinyl colors and were filled with tiny white dots of cushioning. Most of them were just the right size for a child, but if an adult or teen flopped down on one, it was likely to burst. Those days are long gone.
While you can certainly still find bean bags in sizes suitable for children, now you have even more color and material choices. Additionally, the bean bag selection for teenagers and adults is now quite extensive. Colors such as black, grey, white, brown, dark blue, green, and red are all more in line with game room décor than the pastel and neon colors of years past. In fact, bean bag chairs have become a new staple in the family game room.
A family game room needs several options available so everyone will be able to find something they enjoy.
Video Gaming
A television with one or more gaming systems is a must, whether you’ve got the Nintendo Wii, the Sony Playstation 3, the Microsoft Xbox 360, or all three. Be sure to include games for all ability levels as well as single and multi-player games. For a family with several members who really enjoy video gaming you may need more than one system, as some systems are better for single player while other systems are ideal for family play. Gaming bean bags are designed with the marathon gamer in mind. Placed in front of the television, they support the back and neck while allowing the gamer to stretch his legs on the floor. Provide several of these so everyone can play in comfort.
Board Games
While video games are great, most don’t promote individual interaction. Keep your game room stocked with board games so the entire family can have fun and spend time talking to one another. Include some of the new and popular board games but don’t forget old favorites like Life, Monopoly, and Scrabble. For smaller groups, keep chess and checkers on hand. If you don’t want to clutter your game room up with lots of tables, you can use the floor. Of course, a bean bag is the perfect place to sit while playing on the floor. You can choose individual sizes and colors so every family member has the perfect bean bag chair for them.
Online Gaming
Many people are becoming more enthralled with online games. If this describes someone in your family, you should also include a spot for him. Sitting at a computer desk facing away from everyone for hours on end can become uncomfortable and decreases interaction. Instead, set up a corner where the computer gamers can sit in gaming bean bags with their laptops. The back and neck support will keep them comfortable and with a lap desk they will be able to play and interact with other members of the family.
No matter what type of games you want to play in your chillout zone, bean bags will make the experience more comfortable and more enjoyable for the entire family.
